Guest will be picked up at the airport and transferred to the hotel in Livingstone, and around 16:00 guests will go on an African Queen Sunset Cruise on the Zambezi, including transfers, snacks & local beverages. Livingstone (Victoria Falls) Located near the Zambezi River in south-western Zambia, the bustling town of Livingstone is famous as the home of the magnificent Victoria Falls. One of the original natural wonders of the world, the World Heritage Site is known locally as ‘The Smoke that Thunders’. This spectacle is accessible from both Zambia and Zimbabwe and is an ideal place to combine game viewing and water sports.

Overnight: Maramba River Lodge

Ideally located just 4km from Victoria Falls and just outside of Livingstone, Zambia. Maramba River Lodge provides a most attractive all-year-round accommodation base in a shaded woodland setting. The Lodge is situated on a bluff overlooking the Maramba River. We are often visited by the resident wildlife with elephants wandering through the grounds at certain times of the year.

Six luxury safari tents provide all the comforts of a lodge without sacrificing the pleasures of a camping experience.

Each tent is individually decorated to a theme with our own handcrafted furniture. The en-suite bathroom is tiled throughout with a shower open to the African sky. Tents are available with twin beds, doubles, and singles.

Maramba’s private chalets are spacious and airy and nestle under mopane and mahogany trees.

This Morning Guest will have breakfast and enjoy the drive along the mighty Zambezi River westward. Our next stopover is the Ngonye Falls at the Zambezi River. We will visit the Ngonye Falls and going to explore the surrounding areas. The Ngonye Falls / Sioma Rapids offer excellent birding and Otters are a common sight in the river. We are camping at the public camping site of the Ngonye Falls National Park. You can give us a hand when setting up the tents.

A high-quality safari camp on the Zambezi River close to the main Sesheke-Senanga road just south of the Sioma (Ngonye) Falls in southwest Zambia.

The camp has good views up and downstream. Accommodation options include 6 luxury safari tents with open-air bathrooms, placed on elevated, wooden decks with thatched roofs, 4 standard safari tents – also with open-air bathrooms – for self-drive and self-catering tourists, and a campsite.

This Morning Guest will have breakfast and drive to Mongu, the capital of Western Province, is overlooks the Barotse Floodplains. We are getting some fresh supplies and refueling for the next part of our Pizzi Safari. When the Zambezi waters fill the Barotse Floodplain the Litunga, the King of the Lozi will leave his lowland palace and move to the higher grounds. This annual ceremony is called “Kuomboka”. It usually takes place in April.

Guest will have the have breakfast drive across the Barotse Floodplains towards Kalabo. In Kalabo we register at the African Parks office and after crossing the Luanginga River head into Liuwa Plains National Park. The next days we are going to spend on game drives in search for the Wildebeest and Spotted Hyenas. African Buffalo and Lion were reintroduced into the Liuwa Plains National Park. The park is known for its flocks of Cranes too.

You will go on a sunset cruise on the Kafue River to get a first impression of the area. You are staying in Luxury En-suite Safari Tents at Ila Safari Lodge

Guest will have a nice breakfast will reach Lusaka and we close our big circle around Western Zambia. Depending on the time we arrive in Lusaka we can visit the Kabwata Cultural Village, where local artists showcase their skills in wood carving, painting, metal works. Other optional activities are a visit of the National Museum

Overnight: Pioneer Safari Lodge

Located in Lusaka, Zambia, Pioneer Safari Lodge is situated approximately thirty minutes from Lusaka Airport. A range of accommodation types is available, ranging from a family cottage, chalets, and tents.
