SOLITAIRE

Solitaire Namibia Tours and Excursions:

Since it was established over six decades ago, this outlying community outside of Namib-Naukluft National Park has served as a convenient place to rest. There are refreshing beverages, ice cream, baked goods, coffee, and lunch options available for hungry travelers. During the lengthy trip from Sessriem to Swakopmund, you will have many opportunities to stop for refreshments, have your tires fixed, and stretch your legs. In addition, there are two well-known lodges for overnight visitors to choose from.

Kuiseb Canyon, the stunning Spreetshoogte Pass, and the Sossusvlei dunes may all be found within the Namib-Naukluft region of Namibia. There are marked hiking paths, fat tire bike routes, and scenic drives that allow visitors to explore the Namib desert, grasslands, and rocky slopes.

Solitaire is located just south of the Tropic of Capricorn in the middle of the 45,000-acre Solitaire Land Trust, which is committed to the preservation of the grassland environment as well as the wild species that call this area home. Holdings of the Land Trust extend all the way from the foot of the Great African Escarpment to the Namib Desert, which is the world’s oldest desert.

Animals who are unable to be returned to the wild are given a place to live at the Cheetah Sanctuary. We are trying to find ways that will allow them to be released back into the wild. We provide a guided tour so that guests may watch these stunning animals and get further knowledge on cheetah conservation. There is a need for reservations.

Guests staying the night may get a complimentary breakfast pack to take with them on an early departure for a day excursion to Sossusvlei to see the famed dunes there. There are also wonderful day trips that can be taken in your own vehicle from Solitaire, such as the Spreetshoogte Pass and the Kuiseb Canyon.
