The Alternative Space was established during colonial times, as the first and only alternative art gallery, in which anti-colonial and anti-apartheid artist could exhibit fine art and photography. Nowadays the Alternative Space hosts a friendly – and special – guest house.
The Alternative Space space offers 4 rooms, a communal lounge with TV, music videos, drinks and open fire place, a modern self catering kitchen and an extensive library and reading room.
