From the management of Susuwe:
During the night of Sunday, 02 August 2015 local fires severely damaged Susuwe Island Lodge. Fortunately, we can advise that despite the intensity of the fire there has been no loss of life and no one was hurt.
The fire has destroyed nearly 70% of the property, which necessitates immediate closure of Susuwe Island Lodge to guests in order to undertake the re-building project required to restore everything to its former state. Re-building will commence just as soon as possible, and it is anticipated the Susuwe Island Lodge will welcome guests once more by July 2016.
The Directors of the Caprivi Collection properties wish to advise that all confirmed bookings for Susuwe Island Lodge will be taken care of with hospitality at their sister property, Lianshulu Lodge, for the foreseeable future.
