This tour has been designed for those who want to experience the beauty of Namibia’s Atlantic coast after a tour of the desert.
Namib boasts some of the world’s highest dunes with breathtaking views over this sea of sand. Swakopmund is Namibia’s prime seaside destination, with palm-lined streets, great restaurants, seaside walkways, a lovely summer climate, and perfect beaches.
The guest will depart to Sossusvlei and stay 2 nights you’ll go see the iconic red dunes of Sossusvlei. In the afternoon you will reach your lodge, where you will have to enjoy your dinner.

Guest will wake up and have breakfast before going into the park for Sossuvlei Excursion which includes Dune 45, Deadvlei, Hiddenvlei, and Big Daddy. The tour guide will have regular stops to let clients take pictures and have some exposure of the Dunes.

This morning we leave Sossusvlei and make our way to the cooler coastal town of Swakopmund by the Atlantic Ocean. This town resembles a small German town with its architectural buildings, palm-lined streets, seaside promenades, restaurants, cafes, art galleries and museums. We spend the next 2 nights in Swakopmund enjoying the various different activities on offer.

The hike up Big Daddy Dune takes about 1 hour and is hard work as you keep slipping back in the sand. It’s easiest to do in bare feet. Allow about 2 to 2 hours 30 minutes to hike up, savour the scene, drop down and explore Deadvlei. Make sure you take plenty of water.
Big Daddy is the tallest dune in the Sossusvlei area. This magnificent dune is situated between Sossusvlei and Deadvlei and at 325 meters it dwarfs the other dunes.
Dune 45 is named for its proximity to Sesrium Gate. It is situated 45km from the gate, along a paved road and is easily reached using a 2×4 vehicle. It’s fascinating shape and accessibility makes it the most photographed dune in the world.
Dune 45 at 170 meters tall is the most well-known dune chosen to climb by those who visit the Sossusvlei area. This relatively ‘easy’ climb takes anywhere from 40 minutes to one hour to reach the top, for most people.
One of the great things about Swakopmund is that it offers both adrenaline-pumping pursuits and leisurely sightseeing excursions. You can take in some hectic quad-biking across the sand dunes, or drive to the desert to see the almost prehistoric welwitschia plants.
Swakopmund is roughly a four-hour drive from Windhoek. The city is serviced by an airport which can accommodate small aircraft. German, Afrikaans and English are the predominant languages spoken.

The quality of tap water in Namibia is quite good and perfectly safe to drink. Many of the lodges in the more remote areas will make use of water from a borehole which is also safe and healthy to drink.
The snake park is located in Swakopmund. They house a variety of Venomous snakes, Non-venomous snakes, other small species, and offer Snake feeding, Photo opportunities, Opportunity to touch non-venomous snakes and reptiles, Accompaniment for groups wishing to see snakes and small species in the desert.
