Day 1: Arebbusch Travel Lodge, Windhoek (7.6km)

After your arrival at the Hosea Kutako International Airport approx. 45 km east of Windhoek, you will be welcomed by the car rental company and taken to Windhoek where you will take over your vehicle with all the necessary instructions and information. Afterwards you will drive to your accommodation where you are able to freshen up and rest. In the afternoon you will have time to do some shopping for the next couple of days during the drive you can also get to know historical buildings. In the evening you can go out for a relaxing dinner. We can recommend Joe’s Beerhouse, Cape Town Fish Market or The Stellenbosch

Day 2: Namib Desert Lodge Gondwana Collection Namibia, Sossusvlei (253.4km)

Today yourself drive journey starts to the Namib Desert. Cut across the width of the country from east to west via Maltahöhe and Büllsport (or take the more scenic route from Maltahöhe via the Tsaris Pass), and make your way to Namib Desert Lodge at the foot of a range of impressive 20-million-year-old fossilised dunes. Don’t miss the afternoon drive to a pristine spot on the crest of a fossilised dune for a view of the awe-inspiring desert landscape.

Day 3: Namib Desert Lodge Gondwana Collection Namibia, Sossusvlei

Leave early, to be at the Sesriem gate at sunrise to catch the cooler weather and magnificent morning light. Entrance fees can be paid at the office. Sesriem is the gateway to the famed star dunes of Sossusvlei, a further 60km into the desert. The road crosses over the Tsauchab riverbed, marked by lush camelthorn trees, and continues through a corridor of majestic dunes to the parking area. Park your car and catch a ride on the shuttle. A short walk leads to the vlei, where ancient skeletons of camelthorn trees reach heavenwards from the chalky pan. Dead Vlei is one of the most striking sites in Namibia and a photographer’s dream. Be sure to wear closed shoes and take a small bottle of water with you – for your own comfort on this incredible walk through the dunes. Sossusvlei is best appreciated from a height, so take a stroll a few paces up the dune. If you’re feeling energetic, climb the adjacent Big Mama dune to best appreciate the beauty of the incredible otherworldly surroundings.

Day 4: Atlantic Villa, Swakopmund (301.8km)

This morning we leave and make our way to the cooler coastal town of Swakopmund by the Atlantic Ocean at Solitair you can put fuel in. This town resembles a small German town with its architectural buildings, palm-lined streets, seaside promenades, restaurants, cafes, art galleries and museums.

Day 5: Atlantic Villa, Swakopmund

Clients have early breakfast and continue with their activities. Enjoying the cool breeze of the coastal town.

Day 6: Etosha Safari Camp Gondwana Collection Namibia, Etosha South (493.8km)

Have breakfast and depart to Etosha South Time for a safari! The animals are most active during early morning and late afternoon hours. You could book a safari with a guide through the lodge. However, we feel that Etosha is very suitable for self-drive first stop would be Okaukuejo where you pay your entry fee and I suggest you pop in at the local shop to purchase some drinks and snacks and most importantly, a map of Etosha which will show you all the waterholes along the way. Etosha has lions, giraffes, rhinos, zebras, springbok and elephants. This on top of many lesser and common plains herds, and abundant birds makes game viewing in Etosha.

Day 7: Etosha Safari Camp Gondwana Collection Namibia, Etosha South

Day 8: Minen Hotel, Tsumeb (340.3km)

Clients will grab early breakfast and depart to Tsumeb which is the largest town in the Oshikoto region and the closest urban centre to the renowned Etosha National Park, has been dubbed Namibia’s “gateway to the north”. It is also known for the famous Tsumeb mine, and as having the greatest number of minerals in one place in the world. The region is rich in exquisite semi-precious gemstones which can be seen in their full glory at the Tsumeb Museum.

Day 9: Shametu River Lodge, Divundu (522.7km)

Early Breakfast and then depart to The Okavango River .A visit to the Mahango Game Reserve Park, where, apart from animals, we will see huge baobabs. Today’s episode is not too long and we should be there in the early afternoon. The whole road leads through Caprivi and the area of the Bwabata National Park. The route is decorated with road signs “beware of elephants”. This is the route of the largest population of elephants migrating from Chobe to Zambezi.

Day 10: Thamalakane River Lodge, Maun (440.2km)

Guests will grab early Breakfast and then depart to Maun. After checking in and freshening up they will go for their activity.

Day 12: Khwai Expeditions Camp, Khwai Community Area (106.1km)

After breakfast the clients will depart to Khwai Guest House situated in the Moremi. Throughout the drive to Khwai clients will have the opportunity to see and take pictures of animals rooming freely. The Khwai area of the Okavango lies along the northern boundary of the Moremi Game Reserve. This is an unfenced boundary allowing wildlife to move freely between the woodlands in the wet season when water is plentiful and back to permanent rivers and lagoons in the dry season.

Day 13: Khwai Expeditions Camp, Khwai Community Area

Guests will have breakfast and then can watch ladies weaving baskets in the village and observe carpenters at work, as well as visit the local curio shop where all the baskets and woodcarvings are available for sale.

Day 14: Kwalape Safari Lodge, Kasane (261.3km)

Cross the border into Botswana. A boat tour is a must, watch the elephants swim. Chobe is easy to explore with your own vehicle but you could also book a game drive via the lodge in an open safari vehicle.

Day 15: Kwalape Safari Lodge, Kasane

Day 16: Shearwater Explorers Village, Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe) (87.4km)

You wake up early get breakfast than depart to Victoria Falls crossing the border. It is the largest water Fall in the world Resting on the southern banks of the Zambezi River at the western end of the eponymous falls, this popular tourist town is compact enough to walk around and makes an ideal base for travellers exploring the seventh wonder of the world, it will be a long drive so make sure you get all necessary needs for the road.
