Day 1Airport to Latitude 15°, Lusaka

Guest will be picked up from Latitude 15° at Lusaka’s “Kenneth Kaunda” International Airport. From here it is a short drive to hotel where you are booked for the first night. If possible, he will do a little sightseeing in Lusaka, but it is depending on your time of arrival. You will stay in an air-conditioned twin / double room at Latitude 15.

Overnight: Latitude 15°

Day 2Lusaka to Kafue National Park 320km / 5hrs.

Accommodation: Ila Safari Lodge, Kafue National Park / Similar

This morning guest will have breakfast and check out from Latitude 15°.you will drive leaving Lusaka towards Kafue NP. The destination is Ila Safari Lodge, on the banks of the Kafue River. You will go on a sunset cruise on the Kafue River to get a first impression of the area. You are staying in Luxury En-suite Safari Tents at Ila Safari Lodge

Distance: 320km / 5hrs.

Day 3Kafue National Park

Accommodation: Ila Safari Lodge, Kafue National Park / Similar

The guest will have a nice breakfast in the morning then go on a game drive activity and go on a guided bush walk on the Busanga Plains. Or, simply relax at the camp by taking a dip in the pool or reading a book on our viewing platform overlooking the Plains. The Busanga Plains area consists of an extensive floodplain that falls dry after the rainy season, attracting huge numbers of game and stunning birdlife. It is no surprise that Getaway magazine mentioned Busanga as one of the ‘top 10 secret gems of Africa’.

 

Day 4Kafue National Park

Guest will have a nice breakfast in the morning and go on a game drive.

Overnight: Ila Safari Lodge

Ila Safari Lodge is a true eco-lodge providing facilities of the highest quality to a maximum of 24 guests. The lodge is located on the banks of the mighty Kafue River in an area of abundant wildlife and boasts 180-degree views out across the water. The central boma is best described by the phrase ‘eco friendly meets dynamic design’ and is the showpiece of our property. The lodge has 10 state-of-the-art luxury safari tents perched each on their own deck reaching out over the banks of the Kafue River. Included in our 10 top-notch tenants are 2 larger family suites. Each tent has been individually designed to mesh with the flora surrounding it providing shade, privacy, and your very own piece of Kafue wilderness. The interiors, as well as the private decks, are furnished in chic, modern African style and every comfort has been considered. All tents feature en suite bathrooms and either outside showers or baths. Beds are extra length for the most comfortable night’s sleep. Mosquito nets are spacious and billowing and are turned down for you each evening.

Day 5Mfuwe to Lower Zambezi 420km / 7hrs.

Guest will freshen up this morning and be Leaving for South Luangwa, you’ll take a domestic flight from Mfuwe to Jeki via Lusaka, followed by a private transfer to Lower Zambezi National Park. You’ll stay at the five-star Potato Bush Camp, a luxury safari property comprised of just three spacious tents, complete with private plunge pools. After sunset, take a night game drive to see nocturnal wildlife such as African wildcats, genets, civets, honey badgers, porcupines, and maybe even the rare pangolin.

Overnight: Kiambi Safari Lodge

Kiambi Lower Zambezi is a traditional Zambian safari lodge offering luxury holidays with numerous activities. Offering eight air-conditioned chalets, Kiambi specializes in offering visitors a true Zambia safari experience which includes fishing, land, and walking safaris. The spacious, comfortable luxury air-conditioned chalets, luxury thatched tented chalets, self-catering accommodation, and camping facilities all have breathtaking views over the Zambezi River and a committed, dedicated team of professional guides at Kiambi Lower Zambezi poses an intimate knowledge of the area, it’s wildlife and birdlife. Common animals sighted all year round from Kiambi Lower Zambezi are elephants, buffalo, hippo, and crocodiles. Further down the river within the Lower Zambezi National Park, lions and hyenas are regularly sighted. Leopard and wild dog are not uncommon.

Day 6Lower Zambezi 20km

Accommodation: Old Mondoro Camp

This Morning Guest will have breakfast and Enjoy the Zambezi River on your doorstep with canoe safaris, boat trips, fishing excursions and sunset river cruises. With “floating sundowners” you can relax on the deck of the boat, gin and tonic in hand, watching bathing pods of hippos and looking out for lurking crocodiles. You might even see elephants splashing in the waters or crossing the river to Zimbabwe’s Mana Pools on the other side. Don’t miss the chance to explore the Lower Zambezi region on foot as part of an intrepid walking safari. Once you leave the safety of the vehicle, everything changes and you’ll be treated to wildlife watching and safari experience you can’t get from the backseat of a jeep. Discover the tiny lizards and insects which also call the park home, learn about plant life and ecosystems, then examine tracks and scat to understand how rangers track wildlife.

Day 7Potato Bush Camp, Lower Zambezi National Park

This day don’t miss the chance to explore the Lower Zambezi region on foot as part of an intrepid walking safari. Once you leave the safety of the vehicle, everything changes, and you’ll be treated to wildlife watching and safari experience you can’t get from the backseat of a jeep. Discover the tiny lizards and insects which also call the park home, learn about plant life and ecosystems, then examine tracks and scat to understand how rangers track wildlife.

Overnight: Old Mondoro Camp

Old Mondoro is set in a grove of Acacia trees that tower above the massive elephant bulls that seem to be constantly feeding on them. On the banks of the Zambezi River in the Lower Zambezi National Park some 35 km downstream from Chiawa Camp this is a beautiful and remote site overlooking a maze of hippo-inhabited islands and channels. With only 5 rooms, 10 beds, Old Mondoro is the Lower Zambezi’s most intimate and private safari camp.

Old Mondoro’s setting is exquisite, one of the few safari camps with views in all directions, from one’s chair – to the south the spectacular Zambezi river and its islands sprinkled with wildlife, swivel around to face north and see beautiful woodland full of towering trees dwarfing the impalas, waterbuck, buffalo and elephants. A fun addition is Old Mondoro’s outdoor “loo with a view” overlooking the Zambezi and its wildlife.

Day 8Mfuwe Airport to South Luangwa National Park (550.3 km)

Accommodation: Flatdogs Camp

Guest will have the last breakfast prepared over the open fire and then you will get onto the motorboat back to Kiambi Lodge. You will be driven to Lusaka for your flight with ProFlight from Lusaka to Mfuwe at around midday. The pickup is arranged with Flatdogs Camp. After checking in and a bit of time to relax you will go out on your first game drive in South Luangwa. Accommodation in Twin/Double Chalets at Flatdogs Camp

 

Day 9South Luangwa National Park

Accommodation: Flatdogs Camp, South Luangwa National Park / Similar

This Morning Guest will have breakfast and go on a Game drive and will be back before lunch and in the afternoon go on a walk. Wildlife includes hippo, crocodile and over 400 species of birds, elephant and large herds of buffalo. Thornicroft’s giraffe and Cookson’s wildebeest can be spotted plus healthy populations of wild dog.

Day 10South Luangwa National Park

Accommodation: Flatdogs Camp, South Luangwa National Park / Similar

Guest will have breakfast and go on a morning game drive and be back around lunch and again go on an afternoon game drive.

Guest will have breakfast and go on a morning game drive and be back around lunch and again go on an afternoon game drive.

Overnight: Flatdogs Camp

Our safari guides are of the highest standard, having passed the challenging South Luangwa Guide Exam, and they are ready to show you the incredible diversity of Zambian mammals, both large and small, as well as our trees, birds, insects, tracks, spoor and even fish if you ask them to!! Day 12South Luangwa National Park to Airport 20km / 30min

This is the last day of the tour and after your breakfast, you will pack up and check out from Flatdogs Camp. You will be taken to the Mfuwe International Airport in time for your flight to Lusaka where you connect to the flight back home or any other destination of your choice. The flight from Mfuwe is not included in the price.
