KARIBA LAKE

Kariba Lake is one of the largest man-made lakes in the world, located on the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia. It was created in the late 1950s with the construction of the Kariba Dam, which blocked the flow of the Zambezi River and flooded the area, creating a massive reservoir. The lake covers an area of approximately 5,580 square kilometers and is a popular destination for tourists, fishermen, and boaters. It is also an important source of hydroelectric power for both Zimbabwe and Zambia.

The surrounding area of Kariba Lake is known for its stunning natural beauty and wildlife. Visitors can enjoy a range of activities, including game drives, boat cruises, and fishing trips. The lake is home to a variety of fish species, including tigerfish and bream, which make it a popular destination for anglers. The area around the lake is also home to a number of wildlife species, including elephants, buffalo, lions, and hippos. For visitors looking for a unique and unforgettable experience in southern Africa, Kariba Lake is definitely worth a visit.
