Arusha have you given a thought to going on an African adventure; then it is Arusha. This Tanzanian city offers the right base for safari enthusiasts and Mount Kilimanjaro climbers. Tanzanite Experience Museum
This is a place to visit in Arusha. Tanzanite Museum has the rarest and precious Tanzanite stone in Arusha. Visual exhibitions and interactive tours are conducted to see how it was named, created, cut, mined, polished and graded. There is exquisite Tanzanite jewelry for purchase.

Lake Duluti
This is a crater lake near Tengeru town. It is enveloped by Duluti Forestry Reserve. It is 14 km from Arusha city. It covers 63 hectares area and 200m high is the crater walls, covered in thick forest. Lake Duluti includes Monitor lizards and green mamba. Waterbirds such as fish eagles, grey herons, kingfishers, egrets, ospreys, and cormorants have a perfect habitat on this lake.

Old Boma Museum
The Old Boma Museum showcases the history, culture, wildlife, and human evolution of the city. It is located on the old German Military Outpost. This Museum has findings from the Laetoli sites and Olduvai Gorge. Also, see the mountains and wildlife photos and know the German Colonia era history. Art enthusiasts take lessons on drum making or painting. The museum has a mini zoo, a mini serpentarium, a mini botanical garden and a section to study insects.

The Cultural Heritage Centre
Located on the Arusha outskirts, this entrance features curio shops, a commercial art gallery, and a jewelry boutique. In this Heritage center, buying jewelry, ornaments, local crafts, and antiques is possible. Enjoy a fresh meal at the restaurant and African dishes are offering a good selection of meals.

Meserani Snake Park
For thrilling adventures, this is a must-visit place. There are guided tours. Apart from snakes, go on safari on camelback to the local village. See snakes and touch a baby crocodile, if there is a chance.

Neighbouring National Parks:
Go on game drives to Tarangire National Park in Lake Manyara National Park. As en-route visit the Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater.

Mt. Meru trek is a way of acclimatizing to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. Mt. Meru trails offer a relaxing day hike as there are amazing waterfalls and river views.

Best time to Visit

June to October is the best time to visit as it is the dry season. Spotting wildlife near the waterholes is possible. The vegetation is moderate and has minimal rainfall.
