Today your self-drive journey starts, you will drive west to the world-famous Namib Desert 210 miles from Mariental. You’ll go see the iconic red dunes of Sossusvlei. In the afternoon you will reach your lodge, where you will have to enjoy your dinner.

This morning we depart to the cooler coastal town on our way to Swakopmund we visit the largest colony of seals on the African continent at Cape Cross and the site where Diego Cao landed in 1486. We will spend the next 2 nights in Swakopmund enjoying the various activities on offer.

In the visitor’s books at the restcamp reception, one can sometimes find hints about interesting sightings of rather rare species like leopards and predator kills. Depending on the season, one should focus on the central parts of the Etosha National Park around Okaukuejo or the eastern area around Namutoni, as the larger herds and with them the predators move between the areas during the course of the year
