Epupa Falls is a series of enormous waterfalls generated by the Cunene River on the border of Angola and Namibia in the Kaokoland section of the Kunene Region. In Angola, these falls are also known as Monte Negro Falls. In this section of its course, the river has a width of around half a kilometer and descends precipitously over a distance of one and a half kilometers via a succession of waterfalls, the tallest of which is 37 meters in height. Epupa is also the name of the community that’s located next to the waterfall.
Epupa Falls is a popular tourist destination because of its serene atmosphere and breathtaking natural scenery, including a waterfall that crashes over a chasm that is forty meters deep and surrounded by multicolored rock walls. Along the border between Angola and Namibia is a beautiful area that has not been developed or degraded too much. It is a section of the Kunene River, which is one of only five waterways in Namibia that are perennial.
