Unser erster Tag begann mit einem Paukenschlag, als wir 8 Stunden von Windhoek nach Lüderitz fuhren. Warum Lüderitz? Lüderitz ist die Stadt, die der berühmten verlassenen Stadt Kolmanskop am nächsten liegt. Diesen Ort habe ich schon seit Jahren auf meiner Wunschliste! Den Nachmittag nutzten wir, um uns in unserer Unterkunft einzurichten.

Kolmanskop war unheimlich, wunderschön und gleichzeitig geheimnisvoll und gruselig. Wenn alle Wände sprechen könnten, hätten sie bestimmt viele Geschichten zu erzählen. Die Stadt war einst sehr lebendig! Bergleute strömten nach Kolmanskop, um Diamanten abzubauen, viele Diamanten! 1956 wurde die ganze Stadt verlassen. Bei einem Besuch haben Sie zwei Möglichkeiten: Entweder Sie gehen nur zum Fotografieren und zeigen sich selbst, oder Sie machen eine etwa einstündige Führung mit einem Führer und hören sich die Geschichte der Stadt an. Anschließend können Sie alleine losziehen, um Fotos zu machen. Wir haben uns für die Führung entschieden und es hat sich gelohnt! Es gab so viele coole Geschichten, die wir sonst verpasst hätten.
