Introduction

This 9 day South Africa tour includes penguins, whale watching in Hermanus, a drive via Cape Agulhas and a Game drive in Schotia game lodge. Surfers paradise in Jeffreys Bay. Tsitsikamma forest, an ostrich farm in Oudshoorn, caverns of the famous Cango cave. On the journey to Paarl we lunch at a wine estate. Our last day we arrive in the beautiful and popular Kalk Bay with its fish market and Bohemian boutiques. Boulders Beach and its famous African penguins en route to Cape Point Reserve. This will be an unforgettable experience.

Day 1
Day 1: Cape Town Airport to Cape South Coast (22.1 km)

Guest will be picked up and drive to Drive to View the Penguin colony and then a coffee break and whale watching in a fishing town Hermanus. We take a scenic drive to Cape Agulhas, the meeting point Indian and Altantic oceans. Cape South Coast is the indigenous fynbos of the Cape meets the cold seas at the southernmost tip of Africa along the incredibly scenic Cape South Coast. This region produces top-notch wine encompassing the wild Elgin Valley, beautiful Bot River, Elim, Hermanus and Napier wine regions. The coast is also a world-renowned whale watching mecca offering visitors excellent whale watching opportunitiesNext stop is Arniston, where we can enjoy a swim and walk on this beautiful beach with a long stretch of white sand. Later we braai at Arniston seaside cottages and enjoy a glass of wine at your leisure.

Day 2: Cape South Coast to Knysna (487.6 km)

This morning guest will have breakfast and drive over to the Outeniqua Pass to George, the sixth oldest town in South Africa, with many historical landmarks like the Slave Tree and King Edward VII Library building. The tour travels through Wilderness, an attractive holiday resort to Knysna, known as the oyster box of South Africa, nestling on the banks of a beautiful lagoon in the heart of the Garden Route. Guest will enjoy a lagoon cruise to the Featherbed Nature Reserve (weather permitting), where you can take a trailer ride to the top of the Western Head to enjoy panoramic views of the town and lagoon, returning for lunch.

Day 3
Day 3: Knysna to Sundays River Valley (384.3 km)

Guest will have morning breakfast and drive off to Knysna heads and the striking cliffs, a spectacular view. We take a scenic drive en route to Plettenberg Bay, where you can see or experience the highest bungee jump. Guest will stop of the famous Ttsiksikamma National Park and take a walk-through indigenous forest and visit the big tree which is a 1000 years old. Sundays River Valley Running along the abundant Sundays River, just outside the Eastern Cape’s Port Elizabeth, the idyllic Sundays River Valley is an extraordinary area boasting several unique towns, areas and attractions. Among numerous game reserves and nature parks, the famous Addo Elephant Park provides a wonderland of magnificent scenery and an abundance of wildlife including all members of the ‘Big Five’. You will get a lunch stop before you arrive at the Addo Elephant National Park.

Day 4
Day 4: Sundays River Valley

This morning guest will have a nice breakfast and will spend the day in the Elephant Park, South Africa’s third largest reserve. The Big 7 – Elephant, Rhino, BUffalo, Leopard, Southern right whales and the great white Shark. We pause at the waterholes to view the elephants. After lunch, guest will go on a game drive to the Schotia Private Game Reserve guided by a professional ranger. Guest will be back before dinner.

A farm-style breakfast can be enjoyed on the patio while overlooking views of the lush gardens. Dinner can be arranged upon request; guests are then treated to a South African braai or potjie.

Day 5: Sundays River Valley to Tsitsikamma National Park (308.7 km)

On this beautiful morning guest go on early Game drive in Schotia, followed by a drive through to Jeffreys bay, surfers paradise. Guest will drive to Tsitsikamma National Park is situated along South Africa’s beautiful coast, the Tsitsikamma National Park is known for its ancient forest, pristine coastline and magnificent rivers. The Tsitsikamma National Park falls within the Garden Route National Park and encompasses a marine conservation belt which stretches five kilometres out into the ocean. It is home to diverse fauna and flora including over 9000 species of indigenous fynbos. Upon arrival guest will check in and have leisure time.

Day 6: Tsitsikamma National Park to Oudtshoorn (216.7 km)

Guest will have a nice breakfast and will drive off to Oudtshoorn, and the Koisan Caves and take a scenic drive through the wilderness and the Garden Route. Guest can have a stop for a delicious Oyster lunch at the Kynsa heads. Upon arrival guest will check in and go on a relaxing sunset cruise on the lagoon ends the day.

Guest will start the day with a tour exploring the dripstone caverns and stalagmite formations of the Cango Caves. A knowledgeable guide will help navigate its narrow underground tunnels. We then road trip to route 62 Montegu, a charming mountain town where we unwind in the natural hot springs to relax our bodies in the healing waters.

Day 8: Montagu to Cape Town (187.6 km)

This morning guest will have breakfast and drive to Cape Town which is Resting at the confluence of the Indian and Atlantic oceans, sandwiched between the slopes of the iconic Table Mountain and the glistening sapphire waters of Table Bay, the exceptionally scenic city of Cape Town is in a class of its own. Some cities boast rich culture, vibrant nightlife, a cosmopolitan atmosphere and extraordinary architecture, while others boast breathtaking landscapes and extraordinary natural wonders. Guest can choose between an energetic scenic hike or abseiling the magnificient kloofs. We then head towards Paarl, a scenic drive, we stop en route to take pictures followed by a leisure wine tasting at Fairview wine estate, well known for its delicious local cheeses, including goats cheese, and a relaxing lunch at the estate. After lunch we head to Cape Town and the famous Kalk Bay, with its delicious fish and seafood restaurants and bohemian boutiques.
