The Garden Route offers the finest scenery, ocean sunsets, and tropical forests from the Big 5 in the Addo Elephant National Park to the iconic Cape Town. Let the beauty of this unique area unfold before your eyes. 8 days Garden route. We make use of mid-range typical African standard lodge accommodation. Accommodation is situated either in National Parks, on the banks of a river, or in other places of interest. The accommodation will be a mix of lodges, chalets, and tented camps. Most of them have a private bathroom with a shower and toilet. Some properties are equipped with swimming pools and/or bar areas.

Day 1Port Elizabeth

Upon arrival in Port Elizabeth, you’ll be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore this pretty city by the sea. morning you will discover Route 67 on a walking tour, this routes consists of a series of public artworks celebrating the 67 years of public service of the freedom icon, Nelson Mandela, fondly known as Tata Madiba. In the early afternoon, you will be transferred to Addo National Park. A benchmark conservation success, the park offers unique wildlife habitat, famous for the Addo elephants and the remaining population of the flightless dung beetle. You spend the afternoon on a game drive in our tour vehicle, in search of elephants, black rhino, lions, buffalo, and leopards. Additional game drives conducted in open game-viewer vehicles are available at an extra expense. An evening spent at the floodlit waterhole allows us to watch the nocturnal animals and listen to their calls.

Day 2Port Elizabeth to Addo Elephant National Park

Today we will explore Route 67 on a walking tour, which consists of a series of public artworks celebrating the 67 years of public service of the freedom icon, Nelson Mandela, fondly known as Tata Madiba. In the early afternoon, you will be transferred to Addo National Park. Day 3-5Tsitsikamma

Early morning after breakfast you will travel to Oudtshoorn, also known as the ‘Ostrich Capital of the World’, via the scenic Outeniqua Mountain pass. Considered one of the world’s top scenic drives, Swartberg Pass is a steep gravel road in the Swartberg Mountains known for its hairpin bends. Built-in the late 19th century to link the Great Karoo plains with Little Karoo, the pass remains a popular attraction, boasting scenic views of arid valleys and towering peaks. Navigating the sharp turns of the narrow road, you’ll encounter historic sites, striking red-tinted cliffs, and a variety of plant species.

Day 6 & 7Cape Town

Next morning after breakfast you will explore an interactive and educational oyster tasting experience. Take a trip to the famous Cango Caves, with their impressive ancient stalagmites of the world. Hike along a trail through the canter of the Swartberg Mountains at Waterval Rust en Vrede and see a mighty waterfall hidden among the rocky heights. As you cross over several bridges, you’ll enjoy views of the cascading waters and peer over drops that aren’t for the faint of heart. The parks serves as a sanctuary for endemic plant and animal life, and you’ll see wildflowers blooming on the side of the road. You can also make the most of the abundance of picnic spots in the area. In the evening you will back to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 8Cape Town

Spend the final day at leisure. Weather dependent there is the chance to take the cable car up Table Mountain (own expense) and enjoy one last view of the Cape of Good Hope before your transfer to the airport.
