Situated in south central Namibia, fringing the Kalahari Desert, the city of Mariental lies along the TransNam ib
railway and serves as the Hardap Region’s commercial and administrative capital. It provides an important petrol
stop before heading west to Sesriem to view the red-orange dunes of Sossusvlei. Mariental is located close to
magnificent the Hardap Dam, which is the largest reservoir in Namibia. The Hardap Irrigation Scheme has breathed
life into this arid terrain, which is now fertile with farmlands covered in citrus, melons, lucerne, wine and maize, and
dotted with ostrich farms. The dam is a popular holiday resort which draws city slickers from Windhoek and offers an
array of watersports, scenic walks, and abundant wildlife in a 20000-hectare nature reserve set on its western bank;

Canyon drive & Hiking the Canyon
Sandwiched between the rugged and stark Atlantic Coast and the arid Namib Desert, the town of Luderitz is set in an

19th-century Bavaria bordering the pinkish sand dunes of the Namib Desert. Lutheran churches, German bakeries,
and colonial buildings boasting German art nouveau architecture are dotted about the settlement, while its
windswept beaches are home to flamingos, ostriches, seals and penguins. The nearby ghost town of Kolmanskop,

The Desert Homestead Lodge is well-known for its guided trail rides in the Namib desert. Morning and evening trail
rides may spontaneously be booked in the lodge.
Horse riding safaris lasting several days can be booked by experienced riders as well as beginners. Spending the night
in a romantic tent camp around a campfire under the starry sky of the Namib desert will be an unforgettable

Situated in Central Namibia, the cosmopolitan city of Windhoek serves as the capital of the country. It is home to an

A mere ten minute drive from the centre of town and perched on the edge of Windhoek’s northernmost affluent

Okonjima was a cattle farm since the early 1920s that was bought by Brahman breeders Val (VJ) and Rose Hanssen in
1970. By the time Namibia gained its independence in early 1990, they needed to address increasing livestock losses
and growing interest in Namibia as a tourist destination. Three years later their herds of Brahman and Jersey cattle
were sold and Okonjima’s attention turned to recovering the grass plains and transforming it into a nature reserve,
with a primary focus on carnivore conservation through The AfriCat Foundation. Today it’s a luxurious African safari

Located in Northwestern Namibia, Etosha East is a protected sanctuary in the eastern part of the world -renowned
Etosha National Park, known as one of the most accessible game reserves in Southern Africa. Etosha East boasts vast

impressive 5000-square-kilometre Etosha salt pan makes up a large area of the eastern side of the park and can even

Located just south of the boundary of Etosha National Park in northwestern Namibia, Etosha South makes up the

Okaukuejo is located 17 km from the southern entrance of the park, Anderson Gate. Okaukuejo is the oldest tourist
camp in Etosha and it also functions as the administrative centre of the park. Okaukuejo is also home to the Etosha
Ecological Institute. It is situated at the western end of the Etosha Pan. Facilities include a restaurant, bar, shop,
swimming pool, kiosk and camp sites.
The main attraction of this camp is that it overlooks a permanent waterhole which is floodlit at night. Here a wide
diversity of wildlife congregate and interact from lion to rhino to elephant and antelope. The spectacle starts at
dawn, with animals coming in large numbers to quench their thirst. The activity continues throughout the day until
late at night. In the early evenings, it is not uncommon to have black rhino, elephant and lion all drinking at the same

Palmwag is beautifully located along a palm-lined tributary of the Uniab River. Water is scarce in this area, so the
river’s presence often lures elephants closer to the camps. Palmwag is situated halfway between Swakopmund and
Etosha and is the ideal base from which to see the sights of the Kunene region or embark on one of the many local

Set in the Kunene Region of northwestern Namibia, Twylfelfontein is a spectacularly scenic area, featuring one of the
largest and most important concentrations of rock art in Africa. The name ‘Twyfelfontein’ translates to ‘Fountain of
Doubt’, which refers to the perennial spring situated in the impressive Huab valley flanked by the slopes of a
sandstone table mountain. It was this spring that attracted Stone Age hunters over six thousand years ago, and it
was during this time that the extensive group of rock engravings and paintings were produced. Visitors can look
forward to basing themselves at some wonderfully shady campsites along the Aba-Huab riverbed, while exploring
over thirty different sites of these sacred records of ritual practices relating to traditional hunter-gatherer

Madisa offers 9 private camp sites all with their own ablution facilities. These sites are spacious and are situated on
the river bed with a low stone wall around . Each site has a braai area which doubles up as a donkey geyser for hot
water. It’s a lovely atmosphere to kick back relax around a fire and listen to the nocturnal sou nds of the bush.
Madisa is also a fantastic place for star gazing, the nights are brilliantly clear. Each site has lights which are powered
by generator (hopefully soon by Solar Power).
The generator runs in the evening from sundown till 9pm. We also offe r 5 overland sites which are large and each
have a circle braai area with seating, a wash up basin and water supply. The ablution block is a communal one with
nice clean showers and toilets. The swimming pool and bar area are tucked away at the foot of the spectacular
granite koppie providing a great setting. We have also built the elephants a drinking trough which can be viewed
from on top of the koppie.
Rhino tracking Drive
Set along Namibia’s spectacularly scenic coast, the seaside town of Swakopmund is known for its wide -open
avenues, colonial architecture, and is surrounded by otherworldly desert terrain. Founded in 1892 as the main
harbour for German South West Africa, Swakopmund is often described as being more German than Germany. Now
a seaside resort town, Swakopmund is the capital of the Skeleton Coast tourism area and has plenty to keep visitors
happy. The quirky mix of German and Namibian influences, adventure options, laidback atmosphere and cool sea
breeze make it very popular Namibian destination. Visitors can look forward to a number of exciting activities
including: quad biking, horse riding, paragliding, fishing, sightseeing and fascinating desert tours.
